Easy
We are easy to work with. We are easy to get hold off. We make it easy to get your website up and running. We make it easy to make minor changes. We make it easy for you to get on and do what you do best.
We recognise that you are good at what you do - but that you may not be a web designer or a marketing guru.
We want to make it easy for you to have a good quality website - that makes you and your services stand out. Just The Basics takes the hassle out of creating and maintaining your professional, online, shop window.
We Make you Stand out
Having a Facebook page is okay and that email address you have: DaveThePainter1992@SameAsEveryoneElse.com
seemed like a good idea at the time. But, does it really say “Professional”?
When potential customers find your name in the business listings directory or on Google - they want to be sure they are about to make the right decision.
Having a website and one that looks more professional makes you stand out from DaveThePainter1982 and the rest of that crowd.
And, is likely to give a potential customer that extra bit of confidence to put you on their shortlist to call.
No Jargon
Domain name, IP address, DNS, Redirects, URLs, JavaScript, HTML, Content, Accessibility, Cascading Style Sheets, Resolution, Secure Socket Layer, blah blah blah…
We steer clear of jargon and phrases you haven’t heard of. They may make the bigger website providers sound more professional but, at Just The Basics, we prefer to use plain English wherever possible.
We like to keep the wool well clear of your eyes…
No Frills
Large website providers and agencies have large overheads and costs. They need to squeeze every last £ out of every last customer. This can mean you end up paying for a number of things you don’t really need or don’t use.
A basic website service is typically made up of five essential elements:
1) The name of your site - usually renewed on an annual basis
2) The storage and display of your site on the internet - usually paid monthly or annually
3) An email service distinguishing you from DaveThePainter1992 - usually paid monthly or annually
4) The design of your website - usually a one-off payment
5) Ongoing changes, maintenance, upkeep and support - which you usually pay for monthly, annually or ad-hoc
Anything else is just frills in our opinion. There are some you may want, but you don’t necessarily need them. We won’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need.
No Hard-Sell
Large website providers and agencies need to make large profits.
This is why when you phone them for tech support - which costs them money - they are difficult to get hold of. And, when you want to speak to them about something new - which makes them money - they are easy to get hold of…

We do not have any telesales team calling you to add more features you may not need. We have a simple charging structure and there is no hard-sell. But, if there are some additional services that you do want - we can offer some of them…
There's More if you Need it
In certain cases, you may feel that you would like some additional help. This could be in the form of how to promote you and your services, how to improve your website performance or how to make you and your services more discoverable by search engines.

We have the experience, skills and knowledge to have a sensible discussion with you about these options and whether they will make a difference in your particular case.
Don't Just Take Our Word for it Though...
